How can I tell my guy that my family is overprotective?
Ive been seeing this guy for the past 3 months and we finally made it official on the 4th of july.. he’s been asking for a while now if he can meet my family.. But until recently they didnt know he even existed.. they dont know much about him.. mainly b/c i dont want them to know. Im the youngest of 8, and only girl.. My brothers would kill him if they knew he was 10years older then me. but i am legal.. He’s getting serious and i want to, but how can i tell him im too over protected.. My mom wouldnt even give him the time of day.. Most of my family thinks im making a mistake by dating him. but i know im not.. how can i tell my boyfriend my brothers would kill him for going out with their baby sister with out hurting his feelings,or making him think im tryin to flake out on him..
Tell him everything you just said. Communication is the best thing in a relationship as well as honesty.
Slowly mention his name around your family, and slowly start bringing him around, untill your family gets used to the idea of him. If he cares about you he will be willing to wait and help you slowly let your family know of him.
