Doesn't my period mean I'm not pregnant?

If I had protected sex the day before my period started & my period was 3 days late? But now I have my period.. so that mean im not pregrant right?

Answer #1

Then I’m sure you’re fine. :)

If you’re worried about it, I’d get a back-up plan, too. You don’t want to have to worry every month, lol!

The pill can be an extra guard against pregnancy. I would never rely on just ONE kind of birth control, myself.

alysher is right you’re fine and you should have a backup plan.

A hormonal method(like the pill) plus a barrier method (like a condom) are a good combination.

You should also keep your local gyno or planned parenthood clinic’s number handy in case your birth control method(s) fail. (like a condom break or missed pill) So you can get the Morning After Pill/ Emergency Contraceptive Pill/ Plan B in a asap to prevent pregnancy.

If you are sexually active you should see a gynecologist for annual exams to stay on top of your sexual health. (it’s usually required for birth control prescriptions anyways)

Protected? If you used protection and you have your period, chances are you’re not pregnant.

If you typo’d and meant UNprotected, I’d lose that bad habit. Pregnancy is only one of the risks of unprotected sex.

A girl can still get pregnant while she’s on her period, so I would go to a doctor or something if you’re worried. Though you could always wait a month and see if you get your next one.

But honestly ALWAYS use contraceptives. The pill and condoms are an excellent combination.
