alpha dog
I had three dogs one lab half doberman female 12, pitbull half mastive male 5yrs, and a pitbull half retriever11 mths male. The female was alpha dog and just recently died. Well when it was becoming close to that time the males started to fight for dominance.. We’ve tried everything to stop them from fighting but the puppy will not stop starting fights. The last time was very serious they both are the most loving loyal dogs but just dont like each other. We have been keeping them on kennel rotation but obviously cannot do this for the rest of their lives. What should we do?
One option is to adopt another dog of similar personality from your local animal shelter or pound to fill the role of the lost dog. This is a common side affect due to the “politics involved with having 3 dogs. I’ve done it, and probably won’t again. I’m no expert, just used to watch a lot of Cezar Milan and I think that’s what they did.
