so if the age of consent for example is 16 does that mean when you turn 16 you can have sex with any age over 16 in your area? and does that mean you can also date ANY age of 16??

yes, but also if your under 16 and 14 or over, In canada you can have sex with anyone within 5 years of you unless they are 13 or under. and as long as it is not anal.(this is under the new legislation)
