Came home from hospital and is being mean to our dog
My husband recently had a massive stroke on the left side of his brain. Ever since he came home from the hospital he is mean to our little dog. He doesn’t hit him but when the dog comes around him he gets very angry and frustrated and jabs his cane at him. What can I do? Why is he doing this? I don’t want to get rid of our family pet, it would devistate our two young boys. Please help. Ours lives have changed enough already.
I don’t know how old your hubby is, but it sounds like he’s a young man…he’s probably very frustrated and angry, so (men being how they are) is venting it towards your dog…Also, there are probably still some “damaged” area’s of his brain still in the healing process…so his emotions are “exagerated” in the sense that he’s not up to par in the control of them.
Maybe do what you can to keep the dog out of his way…baby gates, perhaps? Is it possible to talk to him, or maybe his Dr.? First to find out if this is a physical or an emotional problem (like will this get better with time and healing…or does he need some counseling to help him deal with this “new life”.

His probably going through a hard time that his taking it on the dog. Or the dog could probably be the cause of his stroke?? Ask your husband if his going through a hard time and try and talk to him why his putting it on the dog. Hope this help :)
