So in general I would tend to say if you want to relaunch a series, it should be done so unchanged, in it’s original format, as far as possible. The original writers producers and performers had their reasons for making their serial the way that they did, and for others to change it 30 years later, is a bit like painting over the top of the “flesh” in a renaissance oil painting, using a modern art style and 21st century clothes, because one did not approve of the nudity in the original.
