What does it mean when an adult calls you super hip for your age(I'm in middle school)?

so, I posted a wall post on one of my fave musicians wall on Facebook asking about the age for a concert and she told my when she found out my age that I was super hip for my age.

hmmm. I think what you wear is far from your age. Seems as if you dress like an adult. :)

Answer #2

lol..to be “hip” means you’re cool…it’s one of those words us old folks used many years ago.

Answer #3

I guess that means “You remind me a lot of myself when I was younger”. Consider it their way of making a compliment. Or… a warning?

Answer #4

Adults saying “super hip” is lingo for younger adults (teens) saying very trendy, fasionable very cool looking.

Answer #5

I was told that when i was in middle school and high school, idk how you are dressing but basically everyone else wore the same cookie-cutter shirts that were different colors but all said the word “hollister” or “ambercrombie and fitch” or “american eagle” on them, they all look the same (they dont even have different cuts!) whereas I looked in magazines, predicted what was coming up in the next months magazine and put together OUTFITS, a top, bottom and shoe and jewelry that worked together to create a LOOK, different every day, one day it would be sweet student, another it would be edgy, etc etc, I never stuck with one thing. Maybe you just dont wear what everyone else is wearing? maybe you are wearing what you see as cool and not what you see on others so you stand out

I think thats a compliment!
