Can you become addticted to working out?

I been attending the gym 3 days a week for like the past 2 months and I really love going to the gym and working out. I just don’t wanna become addicted to going. Is it possible I can soon have an addiction to going?

You can have an addiction to anything really. Going three days a week doesn’t seem bad at all, seems healthy actually. There’s nothing wrong with enjoying that at all. It becomes an unhealthy thing when it begins to affect and take over the other aspects of your life, and/or you begin to over exercise.

Thanks Jan. That actually makes me feel a bit better about my choice about not wanting to go more days a week than I’ already doing. I was thinking however to go on the weekends too. But, now that I know I could actually get an addiction to going to the gym, I’m thinking I’ll just go on the week days I’m already going. Thanks again :)

Yes - exercise produces endorphins which are similar to morphine and it can be addictive. People who exercise do find that they dont feel very good if they stop. But it doesnt sound like you are overdoing it, and its great you enjoy it.
