How do you know if an actor is good at acting?

it doesn’t make you cringe, facepalm or laugh at. And they seem realistic ;D

…unless that is what they are supposed to accomplish in their acting.

If they can fool you at anytime! I act all the time with people subconciously and fool people all the time. Its a gift! I really wish I couldve taken acting in school.

If they act in different type of roles. Like Jim Carrey, he acts great in Comedies but when in a serious role he still seems to be goofy. So basically he is a great Comedian but not a great actor. In other words he is great at being himself.

You can tell if someone is a good actor basically if you are convinced by their performance. It’s that ability to step into a role and make the audience believe that they are ACTUALLY that character in real life. There isn’t a time in which it feels like you’re watching somebody try to be somebody they aren’t, you know?

I always watch character actors to get an idea of good acting. They’re generally lesser known but still run on the Hollywood circuit. They usually play a variety of roles, usually guest starring and playing supporting actors in a wide array of films. They’re incredibly versatile and will play a villian in one movie, the funny sidekick in another and a hero in another. It’s something about the guy in the movie for 10 minutes who steals the scenes from the lead actor; the guy who can’t make it big because he’s not drop-dead gorgeous but can act flawlessly around some of the most seasoned actors. http://funadvice.com/r/bgisnsanvcu

I heard yu can tell because the play different parts like 1 movie in a comedy part, another movie they r playing a serious rol or maybe romantic. Also yu can tell because it just seems real, or when they crry or laugh it seems real. Idk if this is true but they say btr actors r the ones that can perform in cartoons AND real life picture.

If it Will Smith! He can do comedy, serious, romantic and it always works!
