What does it mean when you "acted fake"?

well you cant “change” your personality… your personality is influenced by how your family raised you, people your in contact with and the environment and experiences themselves.

Clearly not acting yourself. Saying things you wouldn’t generally say.

Some examples of acting fake…

A girl wanted to be popular, and noticed that all popular girls are on the cheerleader team. So she trained hard in order to be accepted on the cheerleader team, even though she actually thought cheer-leading was stupid. She dressed like the popular girls even though she didn’t like that style. And she also started to talk like them, watch their favorite TV shows and listen to their music in order to be able to join in their conversations.

A boy wanted to score with a girl, and she was totally into horse riding and loved horses. She spend most of her spare time at the stables. So he pretended to also like horses and went to learn horseback riding and helped to clean the stables, even though he was not interested in the animals at all.

A girl was bullied and wanted to get out of that situation. So she pretended to be tough, quick at repartees and imperturbable, although she was actually desperate and hurt.

All these people are “fake”, with different motivations. Sometimes faking to be something can turn you into it. Like you really become tough if you pretend to be tough for a while. Or you really start liking something that you only pretended to like. But sometimes it won’t.
