Does acne affect your chances in a film audition?

Answer #1

Absolutely not. Don’t be afraid for that. If you’re really good acting so nothing else like acnes will matter.

Answer #2

nopee they have make up for that ;)

what they are usually looking for is personality, acting skills and the character they have in their head already and if you suit that character

Answer #3

Probably yes. If they look for an actor for a “shy, ugly teenager” role, it’s going to improve your chances. If they search for an actor for a “beautiful” role, it’s will do the opposite.

Acne will generally affect your chances in any audition/ job interview where the other person can see you. Because people tend to favor beautiful people. And Acne is considered a blemish. That’s unfair, but it’s a known psychological effect. People don’t usually do it on purpose.

Maybe you can even out your chances for the “beautiful” role, with enough make-up. That won’t improve your skin though. (Unfair again) But professional film teams work with a hell of a lot of makeup anyway.

Wish you best the Sheep
