we used to use vinegar and pour it near the flower beds. our puppies stopped digging right away.

When dogs ‘do their business’ they sniff around as certain locations they mark so will continue returning to it.. If you find an odour your dog really dislikes, then perhaps that will discourage your dog from returning there. I’ve heard dogs dislike the smell of vinegar, so maybe spray something which you can place in there so your dog stays clear of it, and will not potentially damage to plants either. Also if your dog does its business elsewhere, preferably where desired like on the grass or whatever remember to praise so they are more likely to use that as their toilet spot. Hope this has helped
