A meteoroid will kill us

If the govenment knew a meteoroid was going to collide with earth, would they tell their people or keep it a secret like other things

Answer #1

They would just spread the news, tell people not to panic and they themselves would visit another planet like the moon for safety.

Answer #2

Armageddon is my favorite movie lol

Answer #3

as wrong as it may sound..yumiyukai is right.

Answer #4

yep, they would do everything the can to blow it up, change it path, destroy it, ect but no, they wouldnt tell us they would tell the few important people, and try to get them to safety or to a safe place if its possible but telling everyone would only create worldwide panic and wed be more likley to kill ourselves before anything else could

Answer #5

I’d think they’d keep it a secret to keep people free from panic. there’s nothing we could do about it, but if we did know, we’d be causing mass trouble before it hit.

Answer #6

thank you jimahl!

you have been the first person to notice what I really mean.

I meant meteoroid, not asteroid.

so an answer like your is most valid.

Answer #7

I think they might not tell anyone at first so they can try to find a solution and know that everyone is none the wiser but then they’ll have to tell people.

Answer #8

Politicians and Special Interests will be evacuated…the little people left behind, not told because they’re considered ‘expendable’.

Answer #9

that’s another true thing, they will do everything in their power to destroy it before it hits earth. ha ha!! I learned that a long time ago but it took lozzaxxloz to remind me!! thanks much!! :)

Answer #10

First off, I assume you mean asteroid. A meteoroid is small, the largest being of bolder size. Most of them burn up in the atmosphere (shooting stars) before they hit the ground, those that do make to the ground would not kill anyone unless it actually hit them.

If there is an asteroid coming at us, like the one that killed the dinosuars, we will know many many years in advance. This is not the movies where we only have a few weeks notice. We are constantly scanning for large asteroids and where they are going. I think with years of advanced notice, something could be done to destroy it, or change its path.

Answer #11

Yes I rather they not tell me.
