A lump under my chin

This morning I woke up and felt that I had a hard lump under my chin, and when I look up it feels like its stretching then it hurts. Im really worried. Does anyone know what this is ? Thanks x

Could be a salivatory gland (Sialadenosis is usually painless but some types of salivatory gland disorders do manifest under the chin) or it could be a lymph node depending on where under your chin you mean… for either of those you should see a doctor. A cut or open sore in or around the mouth could have let a bacterial infection (for a salivatory gland issue) in or you could just have a cold in which your body is trying to fight it off. Lymph nodes are located closer to the sides of your neck right below the jaw but I don’t think that is technically under the chin. I don’t think you should worry about cancer. Cancer lumps are painless masses, salivary gland cancer would show up near your jaw, in your neck, or on your mouth but once again it would be a painless lump.
