2 questions regarding bike, one general knowledge other electrical.

Motorcycle has starting issues. I think it must be something on the electrical side of things, as air and fuel side of things seem fine. Battery is fine (went flat because I dont know whats wrong, but charged it again with charger), but don’t know how to test the CDI unit (the computer thing that controls spark). without going out and finding another one… Sooo… Anybody know how?

Oh and how do you loosen a 6 sided nut bolt thing that is extremely tight without rounding off the edges? I tried CRC just to see if that might work but no. I need to change my oil but the shop tightened it waaay to much now I cant open it and I need to change oil as fuel has mixed in with it by now.

Hi,

From what I understand, 99% of cdi’s can NOT be tested. you have to test everything AROUND it (coils, stator, pickup coil, etc). The manual should tell you how to test these different parts.
