A space elevator by 2018?
What do you think about the Companies who say they will build a 35,000 mile high space elevator by 2015 or 2018?
Even we don’t think we’ll have it done before 2030. Even if we had the material available to make the ribbon (we don’t but we’re getting closer) there is a whole lot of testing to do before we can put one up.
As for ‘companies’ - as far as I know LiftPort is the only company dedicated to a space elevator.
