How come a 17 year old girl got a job and I'm 19 and I didn't?

i don’t know, she probly had something u didn’t or was just plain lucky. This kinda shi$t happens when looking for a job and in life sometimes. No need to get mad and depressed though just try another job i guess. Good luck

Your question implies that either: age and/or gender should be significant in determining who is the more suitable candidate for a job, ….. . ….. whereas in the vast majority of cases those should be among the least relevant, or more likely totally irrelevant. . Unless I am misunderstanding your comment regarding “papers” and “documents”: I find it hard to accept that this girl was legally employed. ….. . ….. In the UK this could only happen if the individual was being illegally employed - probably with a view to paying significantly below the statutory minimum wage. .

Maybe you simply weren’t what they were looking for. You might not have the attitude they want or the experience. Just because she’s 17 doesn’t mean she doesn’t have prior experience.

well personally from working in a fast food place, my manager was looking for a person in h.s cuz so they had someone for the weekend if someone called off, that it saved on labor hours because they could only work certain hours. it all depends on what that specific job needed at that time. maybe they only needed someone for few hours. and if that was the case you probably be better off getting a job with more hours available for you.
