15 month old with cancer.

My baby brother is 15months old and we were told that he has spinal cancer and has had cancer since he was born. He has under gone 2 Kemo things, but they think it has damaged his hearing. They want to remove the tumor, but it’s the size of a baseball and he only weighs 18lbs and the longer it takes the srink the tumor the more it wraps around his spin. Does anyone know anything about this? What are his chances? We are taking donations, but I’m so scaried. He’s only a baby.

The chances are always going to be 50/50 for life or death it all depends on the treatment, and the surgeons…Stay positive though, because if you put positive energy into something so bad then chances are you might be able to turn the bad negitive energy into good positive energy. He’s so young to be going through something so terrible…be there for him, be strong for him, and most of all give him all the love you can…let him know he has a reason to be strong aswell, dont give up on him. I wish him and your family the best and I hope he can overcome this and make a full recovery. xx

Answer #5

I might sound cruel or evil or a b*stard but ill be frank and truthful

spinal cord cancer is very tough to treat especially since he is 15 months old

his chances of survival are very low… this depends also on where the cancerous cells are… if they are in they grey/white matter of the spinal cord then its near zero and if they do remove it chances are there will be paralysis of the arms or legs

it also depends on the surgeon and how able he is to go through with the operation…

im sorry to hear this…I hope the best for him & your family. your in my prayers
