should i do it ?

so me and this guy both liked eachother , and we both knew about it because of eachothers friends . we were pretty good friends , and always talked everyday . neither one of us made the move on the last few days of school because one of us always left early from the weather and stuff . we havent talked since the last day of school . . . i was just wondering , is it an okay idea when we see eachother for the first time since school at my brothers practice in like a month and a half , is it okay to hug and say i missed you ? we’ll probably play some basketball and football together while our brothers practice . we havent hugged before , if that matters . . . i thought it would make us closer , and maybe kinda bring up the question . but it sounds kinda awkward if he doesnt hug back for whatever reason ( which is pretty doubtful , but still . . . ) . should i ? !
