Should I take him back?

Recently my fiancée whipped my son and left a bruise well I kicked him out but everyday since he had apologized and begged to come home he said he would do anything for us but I still don’t know what to do should I give him another chance?

Answer #1

Well, if your son misbehaves, he should be spanked, but not abused. Your fiance has asked you to take him back after apologizing. Don’t keep forgiveness from him. Forgive him and take him back and give him a yay or nay on disciplining your son.

Answer #2

Forgive him,but make known to him your feelings about what he did.

Answer #3

Disciplining is okay, but if it leaves a bruise then that is abuse. My mom used to spank me, but she never did it so hard that it left a mark. I think you should give him another chance and explain to him how you want your son to be disciplined.

Answer #4

I would need to know why he whipped your son to be able to answer! talk to your son hes the one who got hit! Will he be comfortable if he is around because if he doesn’t feel safe that is not a good home environment

Answer #5

You should forgive him and let him move back but make sure its okay with your son first but that’s just my opion

Answer #6

From my own past experience - once a hitter, always a hitter.

Do you really think he’s never going to touch your child again? You’d be wrong.

It’s your responsibility to keep your child out of harm’s way. I would recommend telling your fiance that he needs to seek therapy or anger management to deal with his temper before you would consider allowing him back in your home.

Answer #7

I agree w/ Colleen, but you wanna have a disciplined kid and not a spoiled one

Answer #8

At any point in my response did I say to avoid disciplining the child? Discipline doesn’t require physical force, you know. A child won’t grow up spoiled just because he was never hit.
