What can cause Lymphadenitis and how concerned should I be?

Swollen lymph nodes - it can be caused by a virus or a bacteria, and is quite common. Some antibiotics will clear it up … it’s not a fatal illness ;)

Well I went to the doctors and they said i have lymphadenitis, and that they were going to run tests to find out the cause. Like they sent me for bloodwork, made followup apointments, and said more than likely I will have to go back for more bloodwork and tests. Lymphadenitis isn’t the real problem, the problem is they don’t know what’s causing it. Plus the fact I have been sick for quite a while, and keep getting sick….

So for now I’m on anitbiotics I’m potentially allergic to (Im out of other options, I am allergic to everything else, if I wasnt 16 i couldnt even take what Im on now) and waiting for the results of the bloodwork.

I know lymphadenitis isn’t that bad, but Im just wondering what could be causing it that they are so worried about?
