FunAdvice Trivia: Where are Panama hats made?

You would think Panama but i bet most are from China…they can make anything what with there abundance of cheap labour and lack of environmental barriers/ disability’s that keeps our cash …coming there way.Panama hats are prob too expensive from Panama since the local Health and safety Executive and the local planning officer and environmental health office ,let alone the tax man and vat man …insurance,waste managment schemes,European rules GDI….have added too much cost for the Panama factory’s to cope with the almost real fakes from Asia….is my smoke filled guess.

Interesting. I spent alot of tIme down there in the 1980’s, but back then the “global market” phrase didn’t exist. I’m glad they are at least made in south america and not china.
