Why does she do this ?

I got a pitbull possibly a mix of a bulldog or something, she’s about a year old now, we got her when she was 9 months old. When she was new she was very calm. She’s still pretty mellow accept she gets moments where she’s extreamly hyper. She runs around the pool in circles very fast. When she gets out of the pool she jumps on the other dog & bites his neck, this worries me cuz the other dog is a minature pincher (can’t spell D: ) & he’s about 7. He’s a huge spaz too, but i think she might be hurting him sometimes. Ther we’re a couple of times where she got her whole mouth over his head. Anyways, She follows you around the house & bites yer legs & ankles when you walk around. She hasn’t broken skin, yet, & since we have younger children in the house, ( two 9 year olds, crazy hyper) we’re afraid she’s gonna get more hyper or get to rough & hurt someone or kill the other dog. She’s fine wif the cat for some reason. She also pees everywhere in the backyard. She doesn’t go in the grass, no, she goes in the pool, on the trampoline, on the deck, & in front of the door. I’m not sure what to do with her, i mean she’s a perfect dog besides those problems.

she could just be really playfull, or have some kind of dog disease. jsut in the next check up ask the vet.(:

Well for one, you could stop allowing the dog to go in the pool completely (tell her no, etc). There’s no reason why the dog should be going in there at all. So you guys should stop that.

Secondly, why doesn’t one of you walk the dog out there on a leash before letting her go wild? If you have her go for a pee before she runs loose, the chance of her peeing elsewhere becomes less and less. This also trains her to stop going in those areas.

As for the biting ankles and legs, you will have to swat her mouth when she nips and tell her “no”. Don’t swat very hard, but give her a tap and be stern with it. She needs to know that she can’t be doing these things.

She’s aloud to go in the pool. It’s summer & its 115 degrees out, she needs some way to cool off, she just sits on the 1st step, she doesn’t swim. It’s perfectly fine. We don’t know when she goes wild, she does it randomly. When we take her in the front yard she pees in the grass. We swat at her nose & she clearly gets what no means, but she doesn’t listen all the time, only sometimes. She knows & when she’s not hyper she doesn’t do it. I think she just gets over excited.

i am having same issues with my puppy doberman…she is 5 months soon & has her teeth falling out & one min she can be fine the next oh my running wild, jumping over the sofas on us biting our hair running after our 9 year old miniature pincher but she is very possessive & the sec the doberman even remotely comes near the pincher, she starts barking non stop then starts biting her in the mouth. Thank god the trainer comes this Friday…my dad is so fed up he wants to get rid of the pincher…hopefully the trainer might be able to shed some light & help us help them get along so we can have some peace of mind!

Answer #5

My dog does that too. Some dogs are just easily excitable.
