As most of you know, I took a brief hiatus from the gym for a couple of reasons. One, I had a lower back injury that really screwed me up and two, I was traveling a lot. Sure, I did some basic cardio and walking but absolutely no weights or even bodyweight exercises.

Combine that with eating like crap and you’ve got the perfect formula for weight gain. Then it hit me this past Monday…

I finally realized it was time to snap out of the physical laziness and get my ass back in shape. That said, I opted to try something different known as intermittent fasting.

For those of you that may no be familiar with this diet, it’s a diet where you consume nearly all your calories in only two meals per day. The periods in between eating are known as fasting periods.

This is the time that I’m supposed to really burn fat. Here’s a picture of one of the meals that I’m eating as part of the diet. It contains the following:

Chicken, Sweet Potatoes, 1 Teaspoon Coconut Oil, 2 Tablespoons Flax Oil, 2 Cups Power Greens and Cinnamon (Added flavor)

I posted an Instagram pic of my big meal of the day for people to see.

Why the hell am I telling you this personal stuff? Well, because if you want to live a happy and productive life, you need to be physically fit. People that are in good shape generally have more energy and are in better moods. Serotonin levels and endorphins play a role in this.

If you are not doing anything to stay fit then you’re losing the battle. Get out there and do something, even if it’s simply taking a walk around the block or a 10-minute jog.

It’s about progress, not perfection. Here’s the specific plan that I’m using these days. It’s known as Kinobody and I have to say so far so good!

I’ll check in once I’m lean and mean in a couple months. Until then, challenge yourself physically and you’ll live a happier life.
