I have had a migraine for 6 days, help?

I hurt my back (specifically those wee vertebrae things down my spine) while lifting boxes last Wednesday. I went to the physio and she confirmed what I’d done, gave me some treatment and massage which was great but it left me with a headache which then turned into a migraine. It’s very uncomfortable and painful, the pain sits at the base of my skull where my spine joins and it an aching stabbing pain. It’s worse when I lift my head too fast or run up/down the stairs and gets very aggravated by the loud music played at my workplace. Sometimes it’s so bad that I have to sit down and close my eyes for a minute until it goes away.

It’s affecting everything I do and I’m really mad I cannot go to the gym because movement hurts it a lot.

Does anyone know if this is serious at all? How can I get rid of it? Ahhhhhhhh!

That does sound kinda normal but I would consult a physician. The headache being there this long isn’t normal. What works for me is an Epson salts bath and lying in some warm water with some lavender candles, lavender is supposed to relive stress. Have you tried any OTC meds at all? Some people I know have tried Excedrin migraine and they say that works. I do hope it goes away soon

Thanks for your reply. I haven’t got a bath damn! haha. I haven’t tried any medication except panadol. Hmm wondering if I should go back to the physician who originally had a look at my back…

That’s what I would do or your regular physician. Sounds painful. Try a dark room and just sit there with some like waterfall noise or maybe the ocean and rub your temples very lightly in a clockwise motion for a couple minutes. Maybe even meditation could help. You’re most welcome and hope you get some relief soon, I know those migraines are very painful

Thanks again, might see a doctor. Hoping it goes away itself though so the pain in my head doesn’t start a pain in my wallet!!
