How effective are birth control pills?!!?

If I have sex with my boyfriend and cums in me multiple times, can I still get pregnant if I’ve only been on the pill for 1 month?

Umm, yes, just because you had sex, there is not guarantee to NOT getting pregnant, which is something which people must understand, if you have sex,then there is always a possiblity, birth control is not 100 % effective, so, yes, I would think there is still a chance. :] and abstinence is they only way..

I’ve heard 99%…but they say 99% because that leaves room for error you can still get pregnant…the only 100% way to prevent pregnancy is abstinence…

As long as you take it correctly and on time everyday … (including not vomiting or having diarriah within 2 hrs of taking it or taking antibiotics or medications that interact with BC) it is 99.9% effective Geriann is correct, you can start having unprotected sex with your partner after the 7th day on most birth control pills (consult your patient information) but most gynecologists will tell you a complete cycle before you can just so you get in the habit of daily pill taking. One missed or late pill and your chances of pregnancy are increased.

eh bc is about 85% and you only need to be on the pill for a week if uve taken them once a day around the same time each day then its the most effective it can be for you not to get pregnant.
