If you miss a few of your birth control pills then have sex, can you get pregnant?

If I had missed three of my birth control pills, and on the third day had sex. Would that leave room for a chance of pregnancy? I’m not looking to get pregnant, it was just a question I was curious of.

Answer #1

If you skip 3 birth control pills then you need to throw away your pack and start a new one, with other words you are unprotected.

The general rule with birth control pills:

Skip one, take one as soon as you remember Skip two take two as soon as you remember and use extra protection for the next 7-10 days Skip three and throw away your old one and start a new pack and use protection as you would have if you started a new pack

Took one pill too many because you forgot whether you took the previous one, don’t worry and just continue taking pills as you should.

Even if you miss NONE of your pills, there’s ALWAYS a chance of pregnancy. Missing pills just increases the chance.
