Is eating chicken 2-3 times a week enough meat?

My parents have been vegans for as long as I can remember. Just barely they have brought meat in the house (for Christmas and Thanksgiving). Yesterday they bought chicken and they said we’ll start eating it 2 to 3 times a week. Is that good enough or should we eat more?

You don’t need any meat.

You don’t necessarily have to eat a pure vegetarian or vegan diet but the closer you come to this ideal the better.

I’ve been a lacto-ovo vegetarian since Spring of 1980 and the last 4 years I’ve been avoid eggs and dairy. I’m not 100% vegan because it is pretty tough unless you prepare all your own food.

If you want to eat animal products that is fine but there is no need to.
