my family(petz) are bored...

I have a quaker parrot and sometimes she seems bored… I don’t really have time 2 spend with her or my 2 chihuahuas ( they seem bored 2) my parrot has some toys but it’s like she gets bored from them and I don’t have time 2 go get her some toyz… my dogs don’t play with toys that much… so what do I do?…

I would agree. Parrots needs much, much more than 10 minutes per day. They are flock animals and become easily stressed if they are left by themselves for too long. If they are not outside of their cage for several hours each day and interacting with people, they can easily start self-destructive behavior, like feather picking. If you cannot or will not devote that much time to your bird, please think about giving it up for adoption.

As for toys, parrots need to have their toys changed almost continuously. The toy they love today will be a toy they will ignore next week. I spend a good deal of time every morning and evening making new toys for my timneh to shred and bite and throw during the day when I am at work. I find it difficult to believe that you can’t spare the time to pick up new materials to keep your bird happy. It does not seem like you and this bird are a very good match.

make sure you take just 10 minutes a day with them!! they need attention too even for like 5 minutes makes a difference! I understand your busy but if your going to have pets you need to make time with them

I will take your chihuahua’s!!! on a serious note, (not that I wouldn’t take them) but your pets need a attention also, and if you can’t give it to them, then maybe you should think about finding them a new home. I takes more then 10 minutes a day. They need to be part of a pack and feel like they have a job, you are making them unhappy by not doing this. I am not being mean, but if you don’t have the time then you should not have pets right now.
