How do you do a low carb diet?

Hi,

I have done the South Beach Diet, which is a low-carb and low-fat diet. (Atkins is low-carb and high-fat and therefore less healthy).

The first two weeks you can eat NO bread, fruit, rice, grains, buns, wheat, or SUGAR. This means a lot of low-fat cheese, vegetables-except for corn and carrots, which are high in sugar, lean meat (grilled, not fried) and sugar-free jello. For drink, have water or tea with no sugar (no soda and no milk).

After two weeks, you can slowly add some fruit to your diet. Also you can begin to eat whole wheat grains, not white bread or bleached carbs.
