How long should I walk on a treadmill to lose weight?

Looking for speed,miles, or minutes whats the fastest/best way to burn calories

you would want to be on the treadmill for atleast thirty minutes. that should be enough time to burn fat, but not over-work yourself. if you want to burn fat, you need to do cardio, which means having your heartbeat rise, then fall, then rise, then fall. so I would recommend walking for five minutes, then running/jogging for 2-3. then walking for five, then running again for 2-3 (or shorter if you cant do that). you can vary the speed, depending on how much you can handle. I would say 3.5- 4 is a good walking speed and 5.5- 7 is a good run/jog speed.

I do first 5 min of incline 5 and speed 5. Then 15 min of incline 7 and speed 4.

I burn 150 calories in 20min.. & the rest I do on other machines total of 600cal in an hour at the gym..

Keep with the gym membership!!

Thank you very much! I was walking for about 30min at about 3mph and I have read that that will only maintain. so after reading your answers I put my treadmill on an incline and started doing the intervals! whew!! much better workout!! THANKS!
