Humans have periods…animals go into heat…Tho women have been known to get pregnant during a period, it’s not the norm. When animals go into heat, they are looking to be bred…that’s the ONLY time they will get pregnant.

Female dogs go into heat.. that’s how they get pregnant. I believe it’s every 6 months or so, they will start to bleed from the vulva for.. I don’t know, a week or two? (I can’t remember exactly) They don’t call it a ‘period’ like humans do. :)
