my dog has her period
what are the symptoms of a shitzu with her period, what to expect, what can I give her for pain.
Your dog is just in heat its not a period, so she’s not really in any pain. I used to have a dog that went in heat so we bought her puppy dipers to keep it from getting messy.
First of all it is not a period, it is a heat. She does not need anything for pain. The first signs are swelling in the vulva area, the second are the discharge and than bleeding, then the discharge that is somewhat of a pink color. 21 days altogether.
ditto, the heat cycle last about 3 weeks, expect blood and for her vulva to swell up. Keep her away from male dogs, and get her spayed asap.
Give nothing It is a dog, NO offense but I am so tired of people putting feelings and emotions with dogs. They live by instinct, they need rules and a good pack leader and a job to do. This is what makes a dog happy
