Scared to go to the gym

I’m 13 and I want to start going to the gym but I’m scared I’m too young. my friends aren’t really into excercise (but are skinny, which is annoying!), my sister MIGHT come with me but she’s busy with coursework and stuff lately. my dad was the one who suggested I go because he doesn’t like going on his own (or he thinks I should lose weight!). I’m scared about going because im too young. what do you think?

I say wait until you are 15 or so. If you start young you blow out your knee caps and shoulders elbows etc. By over working them. then later in life your in trouble… Just take it easy and run laps do some push ups or something.

maybe you should get a few sessions with a personal trainer, that way you will have an idea of things to be doing in the gym they will also help you out with a exercise routine

Ok seriously, it is my belief that you should only go to the gym if you are REALLYwanting RESULTS!!! Im talking abs, muscles etc because if its just that you want to get fit or lose weight just go swimming at your local pool, or beach or go for runs. Much cheaper. Well here it is anyway.

If you do want to go to the gym, maybe go there and ask them and simply tell them you are not sure if you should because you are so young, likeemeruby said, tell them that stuff, and get their opinion.

Don’t worry about being skiny, you will find most guys like healthy. They are 2 different words with two different meaning, dont get caught up in the skinny thing.
