My puppy wont go to the bathroom

We just got a 4 month old puppy 1/2 Yorlie and 1/2 german spitz. The person we got her from has her crate trained to sleep at night but had her go to the bathroom on doggy pads. I want her to go outside. We taker her as soon as she gets up and we spend 3 hours with her in and out and she sniffs but never goes to the bathroom. She finally went yesterday at 10am then not again until 10p in the kitchen. HELP frustrated in NC.

Answer #1

You should take her outside straight after she has eaten for half an hour everytime and try to give her water or something before you take her outside in the morning. it might help but might not. and I agree with pinkprincess1403’s answer =)

Answer #2

Its difficult, but all puppies will learn. If your puppy goes for a wee in the house rub there nose in it, I know it sounds terrible but it has to be done and then give them a little smack on the bumb and shout “NO” and then put them outside for about half hour and keep doing this everytime. If the puppy uses pads put them outside and take your pup out to use them, then take the pad away when she knows its outside and she should get the idea. Be aware it could take a while but it will work. x

Answer #3

you should never rub their noses’s in it, or smack them on the bum, you will only scare the puppy and they will never be house broken., pleaty of patience and love is what they need. Put them outside everytime they wake, or eat their meals, be consistent.
