minimum calories to eat

how much minimum calories should a human take to survive

Answer #1

I have started a weight reduction program, 73 days ago and have reduced 80 pounds from my starting weight. I started at 422 pounds and am now at 342 pounds. This was accomplished by maintaining a strict diet of 3 meals a day of only healthy foods. My average daily intake at the present time is 467 calories. I only drink water. I do not use salt. 90% of my food is healthy vegetables and 10% is White meat chicken, Oatmeal, Eggs, or Albacore solid white tuna. You can do this yourself, Count calories, eat only healthy foods and have willpower! The pounds will pour off you. I am presently working 50 hours a week in an on-call driving position, where I am working at different times of each day and have lost none of my get up and go. I do not take any suppliments or energy drinks. P.S. no grains, like breads or pastrys and no dairy, get your calcium from vegetables.

my friends biology teacher said 200. but I think that that is what it takes to keep you breathing and not braindead, but if you’re planning on walking about I’d probably go up to maybe 500. apparently women resting (I.e. not doing anything) burn 1,300 calories a day and men its something just a bit over that. so basically if you eat less than that a day you can lose weight semi-healthily anyway. if that was your goal? or if you were just curious.

Answer #4

I do not recommend you eat less than 1,500 calories a day. Of course, people have SURVIVED on much less but that is in no way healthy, especially if you are active and exercise a lot. Your brain also needs fuel to think and work, so if you eat 600 calories a day, you will become less productive at work or school. Peace
