What are some healthy foods a vegetarian can eat that isn't carbs or too fatty (apart from vegetables)?

Ive been a vegetarian for two years, and been fine, but recently I’m having trouble with the amount of carbs I eat, I try to eat more complex carbs but i am finding it hard, I need some new ideas for food to eat

It depends on wat kind of vegetarian but most of them yes, vegans don’t do any meat, I’m a vegetarian as well, have been 10 yrs

Do you eat tofu? Basically stay away from bread and pastas.. (whole grain is good for you though) Don’t get too crazy with avoiding carbs since you’re still young and growing. I looove organic peanut butter. That and whole grain bread is mmm and very filling, surprisingly. :)

Everything I make just involves beans or tofu, or just making dishes that would involve meat and just not using meat. There are plenty websites with alternatives to meals with meat and making them vegetarian, and also new ideas. I like chilli and taco’s, there’s also vegan chicken and turkey, also meatballs, you can find pretty much anything you would regularly eat, veganized. Just browse the internet for vegan/vegetarian sites with recipe ideas.

Oh ok, I was just tryin to help, and yes chicken and fish, some vegetarians just don’t do red meat and pork, I happen to do chicken and fish, no red meat or pork

I’m Vegetarian too. I know a bit about good foods to eat etc as I’ve had problems with my health in the past as a result of not eating any meat. I’m guessing you are Vegetarian not eating any meat at all as opposed to some Semi-Vegetarians who eat chicken and fish. I don’t eat any meat whatsoever, I eat a lot of falafel and lentil based foods. Falafel is good because you can toss it through salads, or fry it into a pattie for a burger. Do you have vegetarian sausages? They are great to have in the fridge for an easy meal when you can’t be bothered cooking! Haha. Not too high in fat either. To help keep a healthy balance of carbs and veges, what I do is make meals including both but with more veges… (not sure if I’m making sense lol)… Like, for example, for an easy dinner I’ll have brown rice with beans and carrots. I’ll chop up the beans and carrots and steam them with the rice, making sure I have a lot of beans and carrots on my place with only 3/4 of a fist amount of rice. I guess what I’m trying to say is don’t let the carbs become the main thing in the meal. Try and let your meals be primarily protein based foods such as spinach and green veges or falafel type foods.

The only meat I eat are chicken and fish. What most people don’t get enough of is greens so I make a smothie and this is what I put in it. About 6 strawberries A little Handful of berries (any kind) blueberries are really good for you. A whole banana. About 3 table spoons of yogurt (any kind) I perfer organic. A few pieces of peach. I put a little less than a cup of water in it. A little bit of juice. I use this green veggie/fruit smoothie juice. A handful of spinach Half a leaf of Kale A little bit of an already blended carrot. Sometimes I put a couple pieces of apple in it. A kiwi (usually half) And I think that all haha :) If you have any questions please ask :) Hope this helped! It’s really good for vegetarians!

Oh and I put like three Han fuels of spinach in because it’s so good for you! Sometimes I just use one though!
