Would you forget English if you didn't speak it for ages?

Just wondering- Say for example, you spoke english as a first language, and then you were like 20 you moved to like, Japan and never spoke a word of english again, would you then 60 years later still be able to speak fluent english?

Answer #1

in short, yes… its near impossible to forget your native language… your native accent would change but you would never forget your home countrys language if you have spoken it for 20 years.

Answer #8

No. I will never forget my native language English and it’s because of all the English songs I have listened to. Almost every website is in English and so I always type in English whenever I ask or answer Questions. Even if I become an old lady like 70 years old I can still type fast and speak English very well.
