Age appropriate books

Has anyone read the books the giver or number the stars by lois lowry? what would be the earliest appropriate age to read these books?

I first read number the stars in 4th grade along with the giver and reread them recently and got a lot more out of them now that I am older. I understood it all the same just looked at it differently is all.

I read that book. I loved it. I read it in 5th grade and comprehended all of it. I think “the giver” is a perfect book for young kids. =]

I read the giver in 8th and # the stars in 6th but I think they were good books and you could read them pretty yong

Well I think it really depends on how you interpret the question and it depends on your readind level persnally I think number the stars is a great book and I read it in fifth grade!
