what are my rights 16 and prego babys dad over 18 (legal in my state)?

Im 16 & prego & my babys dad is over 18. My mom dont want him to have anything to do with my baby:( I was wondering after I have the baby and my parents leave the hospital will the nurse tell my parents that my babys dad came to the hospital or will they keep it confidential?

well the suckish part about it is, your gonna have to stand up to your mom because if she likes it or not the guy you had sex with is the dad. it’s hard to confront parents about that type of stuff. And with the doctor it changes from state to state in ga,, if your under a certain age you should be able to make it confidentail.

The father has rights to see the baby. You on the other hand are a different story. I’m not sure where this myth of doctor confidentiality comes from. When you are underage, confidentiality depends on state to state. And if your parents do not want him to see you, they may not even allow him in to your room. You need to call up the hospital and ask.

I don’t think that the doctors are going to tell your mom this and tell her that… But the dad does have the right to see the baby I mean is his! Just don’t see him but let him see the baby..

The nurse/Doctor will not volunteer the information. They may say yes, if your parents ask. Ask your doctor what rights you have as a minor.

The father of the baby has just as much legal right to it as you do. Your parents do have the right to refuse him access to their home so he wouldn’t be able to visit there. You need to find out what he expects after the baby is born. Does he want visitation? Does he want to keep the baby overnight? You should get legal advise.
