What is the need to take tonsils out?

Why do you usually need to take your tonsils out? I’ve been having a pain around the back roof of my mouth and I was wondering if that had anything to do with taking out me tonsils. If not, what could it be? It hurts when I eat a lot (especially sweets) or too much laughing/talking. Any other information would be wonderfull, Im seeing the doc soon buts its in 2 days :/ so yah lol

removing tonsils is just the easy way to eliminate the problem. The tonsils are a part of your immune system. When they become infected, the “proffesionals” often reccomend removing them, even though this comprimises your immune system! What they should do is strengthen and nourish your body so that the tonsils are able to take care of the infection themselves, as they are a part of your bodys natural defense system.

The topic/issue of removing tonsils have been debated quite a long time.

Usually (the most common reason) they get taken out if people have issues with them. I.e. get tonsillitis extremely frequently or just parents who have their childrens’ tonsils removed so that they don’t get sick from the tonsils later on.

Tonsils are basically part of your lymphoid system (the system that helps fight off infections in your body), but have become quite useless over the years.

I found this site to be excellent for explaining the whole issue regarding tonsillitis. http://www.pedisurg.com/PtEducENT/tonsils.htm

As for the discomfort when you eat sugar/sweets and the sore throat, it could well be tonsillitis. I’m sure your doctor will be able to help you out with what it is.

I am currently seventeen, and a month before I turned twelve I had to get my tonsils out. ever since I was little I had trouble with getting sick a lot. I got strepp throat most of the time, sometimes tonsilitis and larengitis. I would get sick like maybe once a month or more, and miss a lot of school, but the doctors told me I had to be sick a certain amount of times within a certain time period before they would take my tonsils out. I got sick so badly once I could barely swallow liquids, water included, and they put me on three different strengths of medications before I started showing signs of improvement and they said if I got it again they were possibly putting tubes in my ears. my mom finally brought up my sleep apnia problem that I had when I got really sick, and they took my tonsils out a few weeks later. I would just talk to your doctor and see what he/she has to suggest.
