Sick as a dog and need some advice

I have bronchiolitis, 35 weeks pregnant and was prescribed e-mycin about 4 days ago. I have been taking it and I am only getting worse. I am coughing a lot and bringing up yellow phlegm and now I have tonsillitis and sores on the back of my throat. I also have earache in both of my ears and trouble eating and sleeping. Why isn’t the medication working? I am seeing my dr today but I was just wondering why on earth doesnt it work?

could be a virus (you’re taking an antibiotic, doesnt work with viruses) could be a strain resistant to that particular antibiotic could be it is working you just need time
