What do you think of this poem?

We got in a fight, you slammed the door, I didn’t think I’d love you any more. As the days went on and the years went by, I couldn’t stop thinking of you, even if I tried. Then I realized you were lost with no one to go to, So I figured I would go look for you. I turned over every rock, looked under every stone, I waded into the rivers to see if you had shown. I looked up the mountains and down the streams, Across the skies and into my dreams. Around the valleys, over the moon, surely you would have shown up soon. Beyond the hills into the seas, Behind the forests into the trees. But no matter how far I looked for you, You never showed up to prove your love is true. So I sat down alone and thought of one last place, that maybe I could see your face. So I closed my eyes and looked into my heart, Sure enough you were there, right from the start.

This is really good!

Answer #3

The imagery and meaning are beautiful. It seems really sincere. I think you should focus a bit on rhythm. Try and keep the rhythm and meter a bit more consistent and it will make the poem flow. Poetry is like singing. You can have an amazing talent, but ultimately, technique always matters. You’re very talented, keep at it! hugs, Jill
