Should I go on the pill?

If you get on the pill - and I do recommend that - just remember that it doesn’t protect against STDs / STIs.

If you stay on using condoms and one fails, or you and your boyfriend get carried away and forget, there is the emergency contraceptive pill called ‘Plan B’ in the US. (Don’t know the name for the EC pill in Canada, tho’) But it needs to be used as soon as possible. You will have to talk to your doctor about that.

And speaking of doctor, now that you are sexually active, you should get a pelvic exam and a pap smear. These are recommended for all women by or before 18, or when they begin having sex.

CRAZIEE, you are thinking of the EC pill I mentioned. Xoxteexox is asking about the daily birth control pills, I believe.

The pill will give you extra protection, so why not. Speak to your doctor and ask for a light pill. But before you go read some information on it first, so you know what you want and how it works.

it’s not really the time to go on the pill not unless the condom split or you didnt use one at all.
