Tear Stains

Does anyone have any really great tried and true suggestions for getting rid of tear stains and treating tearing? I’ve tried the kind of gel cleanser from the pet store and it doesn’t work.

Answer #1

Amoeba…that thought crossed my mind today! That’s a good idea. I’ve never heard of using a tea bag before (only on women who want to reduce bags under their eyes).

Answer #2

a little hydrogen peroxide on a cotton ball rubbed over the tear stain usually works but be careful NOT to get in the eyes.

Answer #7

You can get stuff from a pet store (don’t know what it is called) that cleans their eyes.

Answer #8

Please DO NOT use hydrogen peroxide!!! It will make the hair brittle and could blind your dog.

If you want a easy, natural, healthy and safe way of getting rid of the tear stains and even saliva stains then just add some Angels Delight or Naturvet to your dogs food- it will take about 3/4 weeks but it works.

Be warned that OTC products like Angels Eyes and Naturally Tear Free are antibiotic based- not a good thing to use regularly.
