Cav-A-Malt- tear stains,shes mostly Maltese

There are to many tear stain products, currently tried Angel Eyes,my dog has loose stools, stopped it. Please advise me as to another product, perhaps topical.I’m using either purified water or distilled for her to drink for now. But she still has tear stains under eyes and on beard. I feed her Canidae, which is a very natural food no food dyes. Please help me to try another product without taking her to a very expensive vet.

Hi

I found this home remedy on a site called ‘stainexpert”

The most common one is a mixture of equal volume milk of magnesia, and peroxide, plus cornstarch, made into a paste and very carefully and gently rubbed into the area of the stain, around the eye. Leave to dry and then rinse thoroughly, taking extreme care not to splash anything into the dog’s eye or allow any solution to wick through the facial hair and into the eye area. You may need to repeat this application over several days if the stain is stubborn.

I am a dog groomer and I can’t get rid of the heavy stains, usually I just trim the hair out that is discolored and try to blend it in. When you catch it early enough I suggest washing around her eyes daily get the boogers out of her eyes (not sure what else to call them) if you keep up on that it should help. Also when you bathe her make sure that you are using a whitening shampoo, my favorite is midnight white by groomer’s choice.
