how does vinegar & water mix work?

Is it true that if you put vinegar in your dog’s water it can help reduce tear stains & fleas? or vinegar & water poured on the dog as a shampoo can help get rid of fleas, ticks etc.?

Apple cider vinegar in dogs water, will make the urine more acid, curing problems with crystals. ACV has a lot of healing properties, but I’ve never heard of it helping with tear stains…or fleas.

A detergent (like dish soap) will get adult fleas, but not the eggs.

I have added ACV to my dogs’ water for years. It does help with flea prevention.
