Do you have to pay for kittens you get from a shelter?

Answer #1

Yes, generally the shelter will charge a fee which covers the cost of immunization and some of the cost of sterilization. Also they are making sure that they get people who are serious, because people who don’t really want a cat won’t pay for it. Just ask your shelter, but the fee generally isn’t a lot.

Answer #2

Where I live, yes…you have to pay a re-homing, or adoption fee for animals. Here it’s about $90, check with your local shelter to see how much their fee is, if they have one.

Answer #3

Yes, shelters chage adoption fees. Its worth it though because it usually includes heartworm medcine, flea medicine and prevention, and for them to be spayed/neutered. Its also to guarentee that the cat is going to a good home that can afford to care for it.
