Is mythology satanic?

Is mytholoygy satanic? Is it really?

Answer #1

Most definitely NOT.

I can only speak about irish mythology but mythology is only stories, some may be based on truth but they cant be proven to be true. And the good ones were even adopted by the church. For example Saint Brigid is an adaptation of an ancient Irish godess of healing and inspiration, Brigid.

Answer #2

No.

Satanism is worship of satan.

I think you mean is it blasphemous. In christianity, yes it would be. (and thus some over the top christians would say it’s a instrument of the devil)

Answer #3

Probably not in the way that you mean…as in scary evil… however, I believe that anything that is not built on truth, probably has its origins in Satan. I believe that he tries in any and every way possible to distort, the truth.

Answer #4

No in fact most in mythology( except Greek, Roman and a few others) there is no belief in satan. They believe that to give evil a name is to give it power.

Answer #5

silverwings: “I believe that anything that is not built on truth, probably has its origins in Satan.”

Then christianity must have its origins in satan…

Answer #6

No, because mythology has nothing to do with Satan.

Mythology(speaking of old religions- Greek/Roman/Egyptian mythology) were things HELD as truth at the times they were created. Then again, my view on old religions is quite contraversial and would piss off plenty of people, so I won’t say that. But there’s nothing wrong with mythology. I have massive amounts of books on mythology from around the world. Does that make me evil or blasphemous? I think not. Just like believing in evolution doesn’t make me a blasphemer either.

Answer #7

Myths and legends can be interesting, entertaining and educational… and also absolutely horrifying and repulsive to modern western readers! They represent the ways that people have tried to make sense of and understand things like the forces of nature. More recently they have been used as great source material for well-respected stories like Narnia and The Lord of the Rings. As Narnia, at least, is a specifically Christian series, I think it is safe to say that myths and legends in themselves are what you make of them (for good or for bad) and not at all satanic in themselves.

Answer #8

I agree with flossheal.I beive that it depends on how it’s been made also!!
