As he stepped out of the motel onto the street, a trucker stopped at a light, cursed his long hair, and spat in his face. When Robert said I’m white, I can imagine how a spade feels here, what does he mean with A SPADE?!
‘Spade’ used to be a derogatory term for a black person.
